Poem I Wrote

Boom! Bam!
Went the muskets
As they fired off
The British were frightened
As America fought.

America furious
Britain confused
We started a war
So that we could choose.

Freedom is all we ever wanted
To make our own choices
We fought for our rights
And battled British forces.

“The British are coming!”
Paul yelled as he ran
“The British are coming!”
And he started a rebellion, just like Sam.

A new general elected
A man named George Washington
He would lead America
To avenge citizens of Boston.

Battles fought
Many people dead
The Revolutionary War
Filled everyone with dread.

People dieing
Britain worried
America had won
As corpses were buried.

As America was victorious
Britain had failed
America got freedom
And freedom prevailed.
