Constructed Repsonse

For the topic I am studying, I chose the Revolutionary War. Because I studied this event, I came across a poem titled “Paul Revere’s Ride” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I chose this topic for many reasons; It relates to the war directly, it perfectly describes the event, and because it describes one of the most important parts during the war. The main reason I chose “Paul Revere’s Ride” over all other poems is because it directly relates to the war. In the other poems I have found, not many have related to the revolution. Readers will understand the greater topic after reading the poem and not have to guess what it’s about. It is easy to understand and perfectly connects to the Revolutionary War. Paul Revere’s ride into Lexington and concord was very important and detailed. In this poem, the author deeply describes the situation: never leaving out a detail. It gives the reader a bigger grasp on the story - they now know perfectly what Paul’s ride was like. They can understand the meaning of it and why he did it. Every little event was mentioned and this will definitely inform the reader as to what happened on April 18,1775. The final reason this poem stood out so much was because it described one of the most important war events. Instead of a random, unimportant battle the author decided to describe the start of the war. This is one of the most important topics during the whole war. With it in full detail, it is a perfect memo of the night Paul Revere rode into Lexington. Since it is a very important part in the war, this is a perfect poem for the project. “Paul Revere’s Ride” is not only a perfect poem but is very detailed. It gives the reader a greater idea about what happened that night. It gives them a bigger grasp on the whole war and the beginning of it. It is a perfect poem to describe the American Revolution.
